Most effectual means of enslavement...

[W]hen the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man, who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink gradually. . . .

- James Madison, at Virginia's U.S. Constitution ratification convention (June 14, 1788), reported in Elliot, Debates of the Several State Conventions 3:380.

Hmm...sound familiar? Not do it openly? Argue that it's "for the children" or that you don't need big magazines to defend your home? Use the media to brain wash people?

Remember, the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting, it's not about sporting use or shooting skeet. It's about defending your person, property, family and nation against assault, tyranny and oppression.

That assault, tyranny and oppression could come from a group of armed robbers, a mob of people who don't like your religion or the color of your skin, or it could come from the government itself! That's what the 2nd Amendment is about.

Remember, the Bill of Rights does not give us these rights - they are natural, God-given rights. Instead, the Bill of Rights was written to limit the government's ability to infringe upon these natural rights and abuse its powers. From the Preamble:

"The Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution."

The Founding Fathers KNEW what they were doing in restricting the powers of the government and preserving the powers of the people -- and the other side knows exactly what they are doing when they chip away and weaken our rights.

The generations before us have let the government take too much already.

But we won't let them take any more. We're the land of the free!

Write your representatives. If you haven't yet, stop cowering in fear and stand up for yourself, your family and your country. Share this with your friends and family. Encourage them to write. Make your voice clear. Freedom isn't free, and sometimes you've got to stand up and do something to protect it!

  1. Well said! I have contacted my representatives. Fortunately, they share my views.

  2. Good work! It's worthwhile to write your reps even if they are already on our side. Ruger will let you send messages to Obama, Biden and Holder, too. Not that a letter would sway their beliefs, but help them realize the mass of citizens firmly against their anti 2A agenda.

    1. Honestly, I never thought about contacting Obama, Biden, or Holder. I have no idea why I haven't. I guess I thought my influence stopped at my reps. I'll do that right now!

  3. Unfortunately, you are preaching to the choir, so to speak. What we all need to do, is to wake more people up to the truth in such a way that is does not violate ZAP. It's a challenge, but it IS possible. If we all do our part in spreading the message of liberty, the future will look much brighter. I personally consider it my DUTY to do this....For my children.....And their children.....And so on....

  4. actually, DEBT is a much more sure, easy, and binding way to enslave the population. we are already there of our own individual choice.

interestingly, for 20+ years we've been in a trade deficit with China. what are they doing lately with all those $ we shipped to them? they are buying our coal fields and natural gas holdings. now they are fighting to be able to ship our coal/gas to the mainland.

we've done this to ourselves. gun control is just a distraction.

  5. Actually, the three greatest enslavers of all have been and are now at work in this country... Organized Religion, Organized Government and Monetery Standard...we are all slaves, born into it and never realizing it, living under the dream of a false freedom...but some of us are waking up....

    1. That was a weird thing to say. I was like, huh? What? What kind of religion have you belonged to??? Unless you're physically forced to go to church organize religion doesn't enslave anyone. And you at least need some organized government or freedom goes unprotected and a government that doesn't care about it will quickly rise up. The founders knew this and that's why they didn't just denounce government altogether and hope everyone will live in some kind of magical Yellow Submarine hippie fantasy world where everyone always gets along loves each other. And what do you mean by monetery (sic) standard??? Like that money has value is what enslaves us--like since people hold money to a certain standard then we are slaves? Well if that bugs you so much just stop caring about money and I guess it won't enslave you anymore... Of course you'll get hungry and cold pretty quickly but I guess that's your choice.

You know what really enslaves us is the aliens on the moon. The FBI paid them all the gold in Fort Knox to kidnap John F. Kennedy and use his mind powers to brain wash the entire country into buying dish soap--which of course funded the Catholic Church's plan to fake Osama Bin Laden's death. But I made a really cool hat out of tin foil that should block their brain washing powers. Sounds like you have one too!!!

  6. Amen T-blog! There's this idea out there that the Constitution or the Bill of Rights somehow GIVE us our rights. Our rights are natural rights and we have them regardless of what a piece of paper says. The Constitution just recognized SOME of those rights (the Bill of Rights itself states that there are plenty of other rights not specifically mentioned) and limits the Federal government from infringing upon them.

At the time the Bill of Rights were thought redundant, the Fed was already extremely limited--the Constitution only grants the Fed specific defined powers and it already wasn't allowed to do anything besides a very short list of things. But nowadays the Fed is a massive super government that apparently can do anything it feels like.

Don't expect the 2nd Amendment or any other part of the Constitution to protect your rights. Judges can rewrite the Constitution however they please, essentially rendering it a powerless document. At the end of the day you have to protect your rights yourself. You have to stand up for yourself because you can trust government to do it for you. Trouble is a brewing--hopefully this will all pass soon and we'll have a few more decades of peace. But sooner or later the people of this country will face the very real threat of true bondage from a tyrannical and unchecked government. The only ones who will then be free will be the ones willing to die for their rights rather than be enslaved.

  7. Government is run byen, men in power become inherently corrupt...despite the best intentions....sure, we are not forced to go to church, but wouldn't is be nice if we...the world, could just believe in God in our own way, without being told what to believe and wanting to kill each other over it....any civilization/government throughout history that adopted a standard monetary system began to collapse the moment that move was made...he who controls the money, controls the people....it's all right there for everyone to see...and yes I do have my tin foil helmet...fits very nicely thank you!
