Tip of the Day: Let water settle before filtering

Water drawn from natural/unfiltered sources is often fairly green, brown and chunky. If you're stationary and have time, it is wise to let water settle for several hours after it is drawn. Most experts recommend 8 to 12 hours. This settling time will allow much of the gunk and chunks to sink to the bottom of the container, and if you're careful when emptying the container, then it won't enter into your filtration system. This will extend the life of your  filter dramatically.
