I'm still shopping for the heavy duty folding knife mentioned below. My current consideration set is:
- Spyderco Calypso 3.5
- Uncoated Benchmade 950 Rift
- Uncoated Zero Tolerance ZT0200
- Cold Steel Recon 1
The Cold Steel knife is about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the others, which I why I can overlook the coated blade on this one. I know fit/finish won't be as good on it either, but I really wouldn't feel bad about beating up a $60 knife, while a $150 knife I probably would.
Still looking a bit, may wait until some of the new models like the DP/x folder and ZT0551 hit the market.
