Pocket Survival Kit Contest!

As announced last Friday, we're running another epic contest in the month of April. Here's the low-down.

Contest Rules
We're looking for pictures of your pocket survival kits!  Kits should be approximately altoid tin in size--the complete, packed kit should fit inside the chest pocket of dress shirt. Smaller sized are certainly welcome--containers like the OscarDelta GoTube or even the Altoid Smalls tin. And yes, you can have items ranger banded or taped to the outside of the kit--it just needs to say within the size envelope.

To enter the contest, send the following to teotwawki.blog@gmail.com:
  • 2 images - one of the packed kit and one of the complete contents
  • A list of the contents
  • A short description of your thinking behind the kit and your usage scenario
The winners will be decided by a panel of judges, who will be looking at things like the quality of the photograph, creativity and of course the equipment you've selected for your kit! It's not going to be a case of "he with the most stuff wins!", so it's not in your best interest to try to game the system and jam 4 knives into a tin and call it done.

Some more items: By submitting an entry, you agree to allow TEOTWAWKI Blog to publish your photographs and description, as well as resize the image if necessary. Please proofread your descriptions.

Prizes
This is our biggest and best mix of prizes yet, thanks to the help of friends and sponsors of TEOTWAWKI Blog, who are donating some great stuff in order to make this possible. Please check out their websites, and if you're in the market for something, give them your business.

First prize will receive a neo-tribal forged survival kit from Randy Church, an AR-15 Essential Parts Kit and Car Rescue Tool from Choate Machine & Tool, $50 in credit from Shelf Reliance consultant Jade Garn, a bundle of survival gear from OscarDelta & SnakeDr666, a copy of the Doom & Bloom Survival Medicine Handbook, and a $25 certificate from Paladin Press. Second prize will receive an AR-15 Essential Parts Kit and Car Rescue Tool from Choate, a bundle of survival gear from OscarDelta & SnakeDr666, as well as at least $30 worth of survival books & gear from TEOTWAWKI Blog. Third Prize will receive a Choate Car Rescue Tool and at least $20 worth of survival books & gear from TEOTWAWKI Blog.

Prizes on are their way to us now, and we'll post up pictures and some more specifics as the contest progresses! We may be able to add some more stuff to the mix, but no promises at this time.

There you go! You can start sending in your entries today, March 30th. The contest will run through April 30th, and winners will be selected and announced shortly afterwards!

    1. If you have different kits for different purposes, sure. Otherwise, just send in what you consider is your "best" kit.

    2. And, in the case I make it to the podium, would you send the prize to France ?

    3. Oui oui! Probably on the really slow boat over there, and I can't guarantee everything will pass customs.

If a 500 pellet tin fits inside the breast pocket of a men's shirt, then yes, you can use it.
