- Purchased a new buffer tube, castle nut and Magpul ASAP sling mount, all from Amazon. The old buffer tube had been purchased used, and arrived to me with a gouge in the threads; it worked, but needed replacing. The $17 Amazon buffer tube is good quality, made in the USA and installed perfectly, as did the other pieces.
- Purchased and set up a black Magpul MS2 Sling. I will post a review in a bit, but initially, it works well, switching shoulders is easy, switching from single to two point is fast, construction is good. Could use some padding - not really a big deal, but might get tiring if you were wearing the rifle slung for long periods of time.
- Received shipment of the 300 rounds of 5.56mm 55-grain FMJ I purchased a bit ago.
- Purchased and received shipment of of some WWII vintage silver dimes; Mercury dimes--a very pretty design--and I found them for just under spot, too!
- Purchased a strap wrench, successfully opened my Military Fuel Cans and rotated my 10 gallon emergency stash of gasoline. Used a shaker siphon to transfer the fuel, which worked amazingly well. HIGHLY recommended.
- Put together a dozen meal/snack packs from off the shelf components. I'll have a post up soon. Basically 1000-1200 calories of ready-to-eat, no heating needed, trail-friendly foods.
