Wal-Mart Increasing Gun Sales

More guns and ammo, coming to a Wal-Mart near you.

Thought this was an interesting article on WSJ. Looks like Wal-Mart is stepping up the gun sales, returning gun and ammo sections to many stores that have gone without for years.

Where I live, most every Wal-Mart has at least an ammunition section, but in many parts of the country, Wal-Marts are gun-and-ammo free--apparently as many as 2/3 of Wal-Marts around the country. Wal-Mart is increasing this number of gun selling stores substantially, looking to bring that number up to over 50%. They're in a sales slump and view guns as a potential growth area and a new way to attract men into their stores.

Wal-Mart does not sell handguns, the fastest growing segment of the firearms industry, instead focusing on "hunting" firearms like bolt action rifles, shotguns and .22 rifles.
